Michael Phillips Bio

My racing career started thirty years ago in an auto-diesel mechanic class at John F. Kennedy High School, in Cleveland, Ohio. I built my first 289 cubic inch engine, for my Street and Strip 1966 Ford Mustang. Local racers influenced me in my neighborhood that competed in Pro Stock and Wheel Standing Exhibitions.

Three years after graduating from high school in my Auto Repair Shop, I built a 427-454 Chevy Pro Gas Camaro from the ground up and participated in local weekend racing. At that time my notoriety was known locally and I joined the team of Billy the Kid Lyons with his Hemi Powered Pro Stock Duster.

After attending several NHRA, IHRA, AHRA national events, I discovered my love for Alcohol and Nitro burning Funny Cars. Which lead me to a local Alcohol Funny Car team. In 1988, I assembled my own racing operation and raced in the SuperCharger Outlaws, the United Drag Racing Association, and the National and International Hot Rod Association events in which our Alcohol Funny Car accelerated the ¼ mile in 6.37 seconds at a speed of 213mph. We are also involved in many promotional Auto Shows, Car Clubs, High Schools, Malls, and Corporate displays.

Our present Nitro Funny Car has advanced to 4.86 seconds in the ¼ mile at 316 mph. With the support of prospective new local and national sponsors, we look forward to creating new marketing opportunities with them and their products.

Very Truly Yours,

Michael K. Phillips
